The first post office in Hong Kong, opened in 1841, has been providing fast and reliable postal services to the public. Since then, it’s contribution has been recognized by all sectors of society. With 2022, it marks the 181st anniversary of the Hong Kong Postal Service and the era of the Metaverse.
In order to express the postal service that keeps pace with the times, a special set of stamps is being issued to commemorate and to show the evolution of the postal service over the past 160 years. This special set of stamps aims to follow the pace of the global postal market development, to provide customers with diversified services, and to move towards a new era of intelligent postal services.
This stamp release is limited to 999 sets with the face value of Hong Kong dollar $24.
Another feature of this set of stamps is that the issuer of the stamps put the stamps on the blockchain and issued the world's first crypto set of stamps, first-day cover and NFT non-fungible token stamps, a three-in-one commemorative collectible philatelic product spinning from the virtual to our physical world. It means that Hongkong Post has been innovating and bringing forth new ideas for 181 years, making good use of technology and catering to the changing needs of customers.
It is also the first Chinese version of the three-in-one encrypted stamp product for the global Chinese community.
Most importantly, this three-in-one encrypted commemorative collectible philatelic product is the first batch in the history of 181 years of Hongkong Post.
