八代將軍・德川吉宗統治江戶的時代。
江戶城鎮中不知為何
頻繁發生異形怪物襲擊民眾的事件，
一時間人心惶惶，百姓憤懣。
於是，德川幕府設立了負責維持江戶治安、
暗中消滅怪物的組織
——「御庭番」。
季節流轉——時間來到享保十一年。
一名擁有特殊能力的少女
生活在遠離江戶之外某個偏僻的村莊裡。
若她在某處看見「黑色絲線」，
那裡便必定會發生禍亂。
村民們害怕這種力量，
將少女驅趕至常年積雪的深山裡。
這時，自稱御庭番成員的青年
前來拜訪少女……
這是一名少女邂逅「非人之物」，
知曉愛為何物的故事。
